Proof of language proficiency at level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required for admission to the Vienna Beethoven Conservatory. Exceptions: Knowledge of German is considered sufficient for the entrance examination.
- School report from a secondary school with German as a subject
- Successfully completed courses totalling 200 hours
in the German language of instruction as part of a degree programme at a recognised post-secondary educational institution
- Austrian Language Diploma - A2 (ÖSD Certificate A2, ZA2) or higher
- Goethe Institut - Goethe Certificate A2 or higher
- Toefl ITP - successful examination with at least 373 points
- Telc German - A2 or higher
- Language centres of Austrian universities - successful examination A2 or higher
- Test of German as a foreign language (Test DaF), at least level TDN 3
