A prerequisite for studying at the Vienna Beethoven Conservatory is the successful completion of the entrance examination. If this is passed successfully, the student will be allocated to the appropriate year/semester of the main or perfection programme according to their artistic level. Students who pass the aptitude test will be placed in the preliminary study programme.

The Recognition of certificates and degrees other universities, conservatories and post-secondary educational institutions can be applied for (certificates that are not in German or English require a certified translation).

Entrance examination

Tip: The programme should be well adapted to your own ability and not too difficult - it is better to play an easier piece very well than to perform a piece that is too difficult badly.

Applicants from third countries will receive a confirmation of admission to the entrance examination for any visa application that may be required.

Aufnahmeprüfung für das Sommersemester 2024:

The entrance examinations (individual appointments) will take place from 10.1.2022 to 4.2.2022. Registration is possible until 23.12.2021 at the latest.

Under special circumstances, a Online exam via Skype or Zoom is permitted.

Depending on the availability of study places, entrance examination dates are also offered outside the above-mentioned period.
