Application criteria

for the selection procedure (round 1):

  • for graduates
    Completed instrumental studies
    (University/Academy/Conservatory)
  • for students:
    from the 3rd year of a Bachelor's/Diploma/IGP programme
    (University/Academy/Conservatory)

The application must be sent to the following e-mail address by 05.01.2023:

with the following attachments (documents preferably PDF files, photo as JPEG, PNG file)

  • Application form
  • Artistic CV with education and participation in music competitions
    (max. 1000 characters)
  • Passport photo
  • Copies of the diploma examination certificate, or the last annual certificate for students
  • Listing of the pieces required for round 2 with exact details of the work, movement, key and duration
  • Video recording of an artistic performance with a repertoire of your choice
    (Duration 10-15 minutes - programme freely selectable - and detailed list of the excerpts of works performed, stating the key and possibly the movement/part)

Admission to the audition for round 2 will be sent to the applicants by e-mail by 20 February 2023.

Trial (round 2): 01.03. - 05.03.2023

  • Presentation of a solo programme
  • Reed playing

Requirements:

Violin:

  • S. Bach: two movements from a sonata, a partita or the Chaconne
  • A. Mozart: 1 movement with cadenza from Violin Concerto No.3 or No.4 or No.5
  • First and third, or second and third movements of a classical concerto

Viola:

  • S. Bach: two movements from a violin sonata, partita or cello suite
  • Part of a concerto (with cadenza) by F. Hoffmeister, or K. Stamitz, or A. Rolla
  • First and third, or second and third movements of a classical concerto

Violoncello:

  • Haydn: Concerto in D major (1st part with cadenza by M. Gendron)
  • First and third, or second and third movements of a romantic concerto

Double bass:

  • Hoffmeister: Concerto in D major, 1st part
  • B.Vanhal - 1st part of the concert
